Shop Window Cards

Hello.
I often browse through craft groups and online shops and whilst doing this a few weeks back I saw an idea I'd like to try. After quite a few different sketches to work out the best way to construct it, and a couple of prototypes, this is what I came up with.

This one is going to be for my mum's birthday and is a beautiful watercolour cafe or coffee shop with dainty teacups and teapot and lots of yummy looking cakes.

I added a verse to the card which opens out like a normal card, helping give the card stability when standing.

There is a choice of decoration pieces and sentiments you can choose from, which allows you to create unique cards. The whole card fits into a card box as it doesn't fold flat.

You can watch the tutorial I made for this card on my youtube channel. It might look quite tricky but apart from cutting out the decorations, which may be fiddly (it will depend on the design), it is fairly straightforward. Where you attach the decorations is up to you and you may find it easier to assemble the box part of the card before adding the decorations or add them to the back panel first so you can work unencumbered by the window. It's really up to you - I did a bit of both in the tutorial.

Click the picture below if you'd like to purchase the card shown.

I have also made this version - a cute Parisian cafe with a girl sitting outside under the parasol.

I will be designing more variations and I will also make the template available so you can design your own. The inspiration for this card came from a Tattered Lace Die and they have dies for lots of different embellishments too if you find the fiddly out difficult.
That's all from me for now. I'm going to get on with some more designing for the rest of the day and take it easy after grocery shopping yesterday! I need to replenish my meal planner and shopping list organiser soon so I think I will be designing some new Hanging Organisers as well as more Shop Window Cards.
Have a great day
Suz :-)

Ultimate Planning Book Tutorial

Hello
I hope you're all having a good week so far. Are you watching the Winter Olympics? I really enjoy them even though I don't usually watch sports. I find the winter sports very exciting with all the cool jumps and flips they do!

Today I'm sharing a video tutorial for my cool Ultimate Planning Books. These books are great if you love notebooks and planners and making lists for things (which I do!). There are loads of pages to choose from in each kit so you can personalise the books just how you like it. There are monthly and weekly calendars, note pages, checklists, grids, blank pages and also some special pre-designed pages such as food and exercise diary, holiday planner, thankful journal and goal setting to name a few. You can also buy Journal pages with prompts separately. And if you want a little taster before you buy, I have designed a special version for keeping track of medical issues which is free to download and again there is scope to personalise and add the pages you feel you need.
So here's the tutorial -

Below are links to the Ultimate Planning Books currently available, including the free Medical Journal. New designs will be added soon so keep an eye on the website.

That's all for today. I hope you find the tutorial useful and enjoy making and using your planners. They also make great gifts for family and friends and if you sell at craft fairs you can make them to sell too.
Have a great week and happy crafting

Pop Up Box Card Bundle and Tutorial, 40th Birthday Sale and Competition

Hi Everyone!
I haven't been very active on the blogs lately as I've had some health issues to deal with. I don't want to bore you too much, but I know many in the crafting community have health issues or care for some one who does so I'll briefly explain what's been going on. I was diagnosed with a condition called temporomandibular joint dysfunction(TMJD) - which for me means the disc between the upper and lower jaw bones is displaced and damaged and so the bones rub together and the disc stops me from being able to open my mouth very wide. 2 months ago I had a terrible couple of hours of pain and from that I have been told that the swelling from my jaw is compressing some nerves (occipital and trigeminal) so I get pain from that too. Luckily, I have still been able to design and even make the occasional card, so I'll share one of latest bundles and a tutorial too.

I love Pop Up Box Cards so I decided to make a Christmas bundle and another everyday bundle. I also finally made a video tutorial as I had to make a birthday card for my daughter's friend.

Here is the Christmas bundle too.
And the beautiful unicorn card I made in the tutorial - I just love unicorns and so does my daughter's friend. And I think this card is just adorable!

And just quickly before I go and make a cup of tea! It was my 40th birthday last week and to celebrate I'm having a 40% off sale across the whole shop and I'm running a little giveaway competition on my Facebook page to win a bundle of your choice. Click here to go the page and enter. Good luck :-)
That's all for now but I'm going to try really hard to keep the blog up to date in the future!
Take care and happy crafting
